VeganMoFo day #28 - Super Cheezy

I somehow missed reading this Mac 'n Cheeze recipe in the Jan/Feb 2008 issue of VegNews (UPDATED link to recipe is here), so I'm really glad that yeah that vegan shit posted about it, otherwise I would have totally spaced on it. It's wonderful. Really rich, creamy and flavorful. Just do it!

Here is Tubs sitting next to Faline. You can see why Faline is NOT an official worm, she's totally glaring at him. She is an outcast by choice. ME-OW!
In case you're wondering, they can go outside, but only in a giant pen that has a top made of golf netting. That way they can't run around with the likes of Wile E.

We made mac and cheese the other day but just winged it, not really following any kind of recipe. It was good, but I always forget about all the fun recipes out there. My friend Karla recently made this vegnews one, and I'm going to have to track that one down and try it!

I've yet to make Mac and Cheese and what with all the recipes out there I was at a bit of a loss as to which one to debut with - good to know you and lindyloo both give this one the thumbs up!

My post has a link to the recipe on the vegnews site.

I'd try it plain first, then if you want more of a cheeze taste, add nutritional yeast or fake cheeze.

I also know Karla who's been raving about this - I must make it.

I love the idea of the netted cat pen!

Faline has some major cattitude goin' on there!

Faline is like a spider waiting for a fly. If anybody gets in her radar, she swats at them. Sometimes she sits on chairs just hoping somebody will walk by. good thing she is really lazy or there would be lots of fighting.

In the old place, we had a small deck off the master bedroom (2nd story). We attached a very simple box type frame to the deck/railing, then stapled a plastic coated chicken coop wire type stuff to the frame. that way we didn't end up making a million staple holes in the deck or railing. The top was a flexible plastic netting. Then got a panel that fits into a sliding glass door that had a cat door on it for easy access.

I'm trying to get away from cheese now. That looks really good. Is the recipe on yeah that vegan shit's blog?

The cats are gorgeous. Are they yours??

cats are all mine. or I'm all theirs :)

I have the link on my post. I'll make it more obvious.

Somehow that link is not working. I do want to try that recipe! It looks great! Somehow when the temp drops, that's exactly the kind of food I crave.

Best vegan mac and cheese EVER! I now use this "cheese" recipe for all kinds of stuff - on burritos, sandwiches, etc. It's more spreadable after refrigeration. So good! And so nice to have a nooch free option. I like nooch and all...just not every.single.time.
