I'm of course talking about Punk Rock Chickpea Gravy from Vegan with a Vengeance. Yum! Had it on top of a baked garnet yams - though below you can barely see the yam under the super delicious gravy. Also made Jeff's Favorite Neat Loaf from The New Now and Zen Epicure. It was good too, but the yams and gravy stole the show. We're going to have awesome leftovers tomorrow!
Also made Brooklyn vs. Boston Cream Pie with a slice of banana inserted into the pudding middle of the cupcake. Mmmmm... banana pudding cupcakes. You can sort of see the banana in the second pic. It's right below that line of chocolate that dragged from the top when I cut them. Maybe next time I will put some turmeric into the pudding so that you can see that there is a banana in there.

Ohhhhh... lovely!
Awesome cupcake picture! I love the idea of adding banana.
Whoa, your Boston Cream cuppers look awesome! That's one of the few recipes I have yet to try from VCTOTW.
They are totally worth trying. A bit of effort, but not that much more than making unlumpy frosting. though I think there is a typo in the recipe. I use 1/4 tsp of arrowroot instead of 4 tsp. 4 tsp makes the filling very very bitter... btw, better the second day now that the banana has been fusing w/ the pudding.
OMGYUM those cupcakes look sooooo good!
Everything looks wonderful. Boy the Neatloaf is mouth watering.
Hi Bethany,
I found your blog through vegan mofo.
Your cupcakes look amazing- and adding banana was a great idea. I have always been afraid to make cupcakes with filling, but your pictures may have tempted me to try it!
Yum! I think I need to get VWAV just so I can make the Punk Rock Gravy!
And I too can't sleep without my night plate in! I've forgotten and within a minute of being in bed I realise and rush to get it, haha.
Ooh, your posts are getting me all excited to try some new recipes. Somehow I haven't tried the Punk Rock Vegan Gravy from VWAV yet...probably because I'm hopelessly addicted to the White Bean and Tempeh Sausage recipe. Have you made the Mushroom Sauce on p89? The Black-Eyed Pea/Quinoa Croquettes that go with it are good, but that mushroom sauce...oh my goodness, I could've put it on cardboard and still sworn I was eating the best thing ever.
I haven't tried those yet, but I have a growing list of what I need to now try thanks to veganmofo ;-). I think that this is such a win win win situation.
I have tried the white bean and tempeh sausages recipe.
